The Practice

The Practice

Welcome to The Rutland Veterinary Clinic and Surgical Center! The Rutland Veterinary Clinic and Surgical Center is the first and longest continuously accredited member of the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in Vermont.  The AAHA demands adherence to the highest standards for patient care, staff knowledge and up to date equipment and facilities.   This was the guiding philosophy of the founders over 60 years ago, and continues to be the goal of the practice today.

Our Surgical Suite

Our Surgical Suite

Our Spacious surgery suite with two operating tables allows for simultaneous surgeries to be performed when the need arises.  While many of our surgeries are spays and neuters, we also perform more advanced procedures like cranial cruciate ligament surgery, patellar luxation stabilization (i.e. floating kneecaps), long bone fracture reconstruction and more involved growth removals and abdominal surgeries.
Our Exam Rooms

Our Exam Rooms

Our bright and comfortable exam rooms provide a tranquil place where your pet will feel content and relaxed during his examination. Most have x-ray viewers which allow our veterinarians to review your animal's x-rays with you privately. Our exam rooms are cleaned between each appointment and swept and mopped daily.
Our Dental Area

Our Dental Area

We perform more than 150 dental procedures per year in our dental suite.  Good dental hygiene begins early! Without proper dental care, 80% of dogs and 70% of cats will show signs of oral disease by age three.   We recommend talking to your veterinarian about a good dental care program as soon as you bring your new pet home.
Our X-Ray Suite

Our X-Ray Suite

Our radiology suite features a state of the art digital x-ray system, recently installed in September 2009. This system has many advantages including a reduction in the amount of radiation the staff is exposed to, the ability to manipulate image quality which reduces the need for retakes, and the ability to send x-rays via the internet to specialists as needed. The superior image quality has enhanced our diagnostic capabilities and because digital x-ray is much quicker, there is less stress for your animal.
Our Indoor Kennels

Our Indoor Kennels

Whether your pet is here for boarding or day care, we will do our best to make his stay enjoyable.  At the Rutland Veterinary Clinic and Surgical Center our knowledgeable staff truly loves animals and will lavish lots of affection and attention on your pet.

Our Outdoor Kennels

Our Outdoor Kennels

Animals are fed meals in the morning and evening and are also given random treats throughout the day.  Dogs typically get the opportunity to use our outdoor kennels three times a day to make sure they have ample opportunity to relieve themselves and to get some exercise.
